Counselling - Coaching - Supervision
Counselling
As a humanistic counsellor, I strive to build a safe, warm and confidential environment for my clients to explore their issues where no topic is unapproachable. I am creative in my approach and tailor my approach to each client’s needs individually. My usual way of practice is face to face but I understand this is not always possible, therefore I also offer Skype and telephone sessions. I am also a qualified Nordic Walking instructor and have developed a unique way of therapy, combining exercise with the outdoors in a therapeutic setting.
Coaching
Personally, I think everybody should have a coach. Coaching is a helpful way of looking at what might be stopping you to reach your true potential and working through these “roadblocks”. You may be stuck at a job that doesn’t inspire you. You may be in a loveless relationship or you might have just retired. These are just some of the scenarios where coaching can be beneficial. For younger people, dealing with the pressures of school life, exams and friendship groups can become overwhelming. Coaching can be a useful way of managing these anxieties and stresses.
Supervision
I have been supervising fellow counsellors since 2006. My work is inspired by the seven eyed supervision model (Hawkings & Shohet). This model focuses closely on the relationship between client, therapist and supervisor. I have experience with both one one one and group supervision and am creative with my approaches. I am able to supervise counsellors who practice with children, couples and individuals. I also offer a unique type of supervision which involves Nordic Walking, which is a fantastic form of outdoor exercise using specialist poles. This helps the supervisee to reflect on clients, self care and mindfulness.
